"Thank you for always being supportive!” Greetings ! Please find attached the ABRSM Certificate that arrived from UK with Vikram's excellent scores in it. Many thanks for preparing Vikram for this exam over the last 6 months. The ABRSM Coordinator, based in the US, who conducts these exams in person mentioned that getting full marks in 3 of the sections is quite an achievement as even her students don't get that score.
We will always remain grateful. Thank you for always being supportive with opportunities to perform for Vikram which builds up his confidence and his comfort with being in front of an audience.
Reemaa, Vikram's Mom
"I really look forward to it!" “My lesson has become the highlight of my week. I really look forward to it. I can see and feel the progress, and my instructors have really encouraged and continued to push me so much that I know I will be able to fulfill my wish to be a good pianist. I’m very excited about it.” - Elbert Hunter, age 70.
”Exceptional” “An institution with exceptional instructors!” - Imran Khan, Attorney at Law
"Evokes wonder, amazement and joy!" “During the pandemic, informal piano recitals became a regular feature in our home; our son Vikram would play several pieces in the evening after dinner not only bringing us joy and happiness but our neighbours also as they watched him via zoom. Our weekly online lessons with South Loop Piano Lessons paid off even though we missed seeing our teacher face to face and playing the grand piano. Now, with in person recitals being possible, we are so excited. Seeing the students perform live evokes wonder, amazement and joy in us and it’s something that we missed all last year. It makes us realise how much music uplifts and heals.” - Reemaa K. (parent of Vikram, 9years)
"Joe is teaching his brother how to bow!" “Joe and Oliver both say the best part of taking piano lessons is being able to make music. During COVID shutdown, they looked forward to virtual lessons because it still gave them alone time to learn with their teachers. This will be Oliver’s first in person recital and he is super excited to perform for an audience. Joe is teaching his brother how to bow. We love the program and it’s great watching my boys learn music and progress with their piano studies. The lessons are always a bright spot in their week” - Jennifer (Mom of Joe and Oliver)
"I am closer to my goal..." "I've been playing piano since I was five. My goal is to be able to sit down at a piano and be able to play a famous song from memory. now I am closer to my goal than I was when I started." - Josie (age 10)
"Music has become a big and very fun part..." "I started playing piano when I was very young because my dad wanted me to. Now, through Champaign SchoolofMusic, I've gotten much better and music has become a big and very fun part of my life. Thank you Champaign School of Music!" - Elaina (age 12)
"The rewards of pushing through the hard times was worth it....." "Our daughters have been taking lessons at the Champaign School of Music for quite a few years, and the thought of missing them during the pandemic would have been unimaginable. We did not know how video lessons were going to be; we are not a quiet household! But Ms Daniele and Ms Ming really did a great job making it all work while being incredibly patient with the obvious auditory and visual challenges that accompany teaching by camera. I am sure the pandemic video fatigue was hard for them, too, but they never showed it. The rewards of pushing through the hard times were worth it, and everyday I enjoy live music in my home from multiple children. We are so blessed that our children have the opportunity to learn from such accomplished pianists who also know how to teach their skills well. They work with each child individually, even letting them learn some of their own musical selections while pushing them to learn new skills and to broaden their musical tastes with a variety of composers. We have been incredibly impressed with the musical strides our child have made with the Champaign School of Music!" - George (father of 9)
"I had very successful auditions at several colleges!" "I wanted to let you know that I will be attending the University of Illinois-Urbana as a music major next fall. I know all of those piano lessons I had with you helped in my success so far!! My mom tells me that the strong music foundation and practice habits I learned when I worked with you is what has made it possible for me to develop my music to this point. I had very successful auditions at several different colleges and have been offered music talent scholarships, too." - Kate M.
"I can play over 20 songs!" "I am a 7 year old girl and I am half Japanese and half ' American. I go to piano class once a week. I have been learning piano for about 10 months and can play over forty songs on the piano. I have had 2 piano recitals that were really fun and really crowded. My piano teacher is awesome. She is so nice and she always pushes me to become a better pianist. My favorite thing about piano school is learning new songs and then playing them for my mom and dad!" --Terra B. Age 7
"It makes music in our home a joy rather than a struggle!" "In my opinion, the quality of any school simply boils down to the quality of its instructors and my daughter's piano teacher is fantastic. It is clear her teacher's life revolves around music and her passion for teaching inspires all of us. I really don't want to have to force my children to practice - so the fact that her teacher both challenges and inspires her to learn - which results in her wanting to practice makes music in our home a joy rather than a struggle." --Kurt B.
"I feel more comfortable sitting down at the piano now." I thoroughly enjoyed taking lessons. I'd always wanted to learn how to play, even have a piano, so at 42 I decided it was time. My Grandmother had passed away and it would have meant a lot to her to know she helped pay for some classes for me. My teacher was wonderful. She was cheerful, very, very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm for teaching the class. She wasn't afraid to make us play what we were learning, never scolded us for not learning quickly enough [like a younger student might have] and made it a truly enjoyable experience. I'm not going to be performing in public anytime soon, but I feel more confident sitting down at my piano now. She helped us with her encouragement and her endless enthusiasm. Mistakes were not a problem. She wanted us to play loudly and enjoy hitting the keys. - just like kids. That's a lot of why I wanted to take the class and stuck with the entire session. I wanted to come play and learn. --Janet M. Age 42
"Katie's performance caught the attention of many of the parents." "Katie's progress in playing piano constantly amazes our family. She always looks forward to her lessons and what new things she can learn. Katie performed recently at a small talent show. Their were many other children playing piano, yet Katie's performance caught the attention of many of the parents. As we were leaving the talent show I had one parent congratulating Katie and asking where she took piano because they were so impressed with her performance." - Marilyn and Mike F.
